Congratulations on taking the first step towards healing –
that is, to recognize you might need some outside help after trying to “make it on your own” for quite some time.
Let’s talk about what we do here and how we make healing happen.
First and foremost, this is a collaboration between you and me. I am not a life coach nor a wise advisor who is just going to sit here and tell you what to do and you do it. Gosh, I wish it is that simple! It is not, and therapy is hard work. We are going to get to know each other first.
Why are you here and who are you? For many people, finding the answers to those two questions are already comforting enough that they might complete their therapy journey right there and then. But for others, knowing is not enough. You still need the tools to work through a depressive episode, or anxiety, or to deal with some relationship issues. That’s what we will do together – understanding the cause of your suffering, accepting its existence and finding ways to make it more bearable.
